Perkins Oil Filters
The Perkins 2654407 oil filter is a spin-on element listed for 1000, 1100 and 1200 Series, 4.108 through 6.354, 400 Series, 900 Series and V8.510/540/640 engines. Whether it fits your engine depends on the build, the installed position and the number on the element you are removing.
Availability and delivery terms confirmed with quotation.
The 2654407 is a spin-on canister: element and housing in one unit, threaded onto the block and sealed by a gasket. It carries an anti-drain-back valve and a by-pass valve, and is supplied with a sealing ring. It serves the full-flow lube position on Perkins 1000, 1100 and 1200 Series builds and the 4.108–6.354 range.
Perkins’ own listing keys the part to a long list of engine serial prefixes. The series name does not settle it; the same series can carry different filters across production years. Confirm the serial or build-list prefix, and the number on the old element.
The element in your hand is evidence; the identification guide covers reading a worn number.
Provide the engine maker, model and full serial or build-list prefix. The series name alone does not confirm fitment.
Identify the filter position and whether the taller 2654407 canister will foul anything, especially around the injection pump on 4-cylinder builds.
Send the full number printed on the removed element, including any suffix. If the catalogue, the build list and the old element disagree, send all three for review.
We publish only the interface fields that agree across listings. Length, outside diameter, bypass setting and micron rating are withheld: listings conflict, and a copied figure is not evidence. Those values are confirmed against the manufacturer specification for your build and stated in your quotation. Not sure which of these you have?

Perkins 1000, 1100 and 1200 Series / 4.108–4.318 / 6.354 / 400 Series / 900 Series / V8
Applications are engine-led: Perkins 1000, 1100 and 1200 Series, 4.108–4.318, 6.354, 400 Series, 900 Series and V8 engines in tractors, plant, generator sets, marine and industrial duty. The 1100 and 1200 Series in particular reach a large generator-set and plant population; confirm each application on the machine’s own record.
Industrial cross-references also require a check against the machine’s parts record.
We check each line against the parts record and position, then state the offered item, maker, complete number, quantity and delivery terms.
No real-time stock feed is published; availability is confirmed against your list.
Request a QuoteBoth are 3/4″-16 UNF spin-on oil filters of the same diameter; 2654407 is the taller, high-capacity canister. It reaches the 6-cylinder and 1104D builds, but can foul the injection-pump lever on tight 4-cylinder installations, so the choice is clearance versus capacity.
Perkins lists 1000, 1100 and 1200 Series, 4.108–4.318, 6.354, 400 Series, 900 Series and V8.510/540/640 engines, keyed to a long list of serial prefixes. Confirm the serial or build-list prefix rather than relying on the series name.
1104A/C/D variants appear on 2654407’s fitment, which is why it is the number to check for 1104D builds where the shorter 2654403 is not listed. Confirm against the build list before ordering.
It is sold under those makers’ numbers: Caterpillar 7W2326, Case IH 3214797R1, Massey Ferguson 1447031M1. A numeric match is not a fitment match; confirm the build.
Sources give roughly 0.8–1 bar, and one cites about 8–11 psi. Confirm the figure against the manufacturer specification for your build rather than a reseller listing.
Send the engine model, build number and the number printed on the element you are removing.
We will confirm the offered item, maker, complete number and terms.
