Get a Quote for Engine Filters

A Perkins engine in service usually carries five or six filter positions: a fuel/water separator, one or two fuel elements, a lube oil filter, an air filter and, on many builds, a coolant filter and a crankcase breather filter. Which element fits each position depends on the engine build — the serial number — not the model badge. That is why Perkins filters are quoted against a build record rather than a model name.

Nine Perkins filter and service categories, covering engine-service elements and aftertreatment applications. Confirm the engine build, installed position and complete part reference before ordering.
A category hub for Perkins engine-service filtration, not a stock list. Scope is defined by installed position and by the records that confirm each element.
Hydraulic, transmission, cab and full-machine filters are not covered, and neither are pumps, injectors or fuel lines. DEF filters and DPF are aftertreatment components rather than engine-service elements; they are quoted separately when required.
Availability is confirmed in the quotation. No real-time inventory feed is published.
Perkins is used here as an engine application and original reference name. No authorized-dealer relationship is claimed, and this page is not a fitment certificate — only the engine record and the item in hand confirm the match.
Position comes first because the same engine can carry two fuel elements that look similar and do different jobs.
| Position | What it protects | What a wrong element risks |
|---|---|---|
| Fuel/water separator | Lift pump, injection system | Water carry-over, corrosion |
| Primary fuel | Final-stage element | Early loading, short service life |
| Final-stage fuel | Injectors, high-pressure pump | Injector damage, derate |
| Lube oil | Bearings, turbocharger | Wear, low oil pressure |
| Air, primary and safety | Cylinders, turbocharger | Dust ingress, restriction |
| Coolant | Liners, cooling system | Cavitation, deposit build-up |
| Crankcase breather | Seals, intake, emissions | Oil-mist carry-over, blockage |
Each position maps to one of the nine filter categories listed above: fuel, oil, air, fuel/water separator, coolant, crankcase breather or service kit. The position decides which of them applies.
The serial number is the first record, because the same Perkins model designation can carry different filter arrangements across production.
The compact family. Send the serial or build number with the references from the removed elements before the list is reviewed.
Request 400 Series Filters →Production and emissions changes can alter the fuel filtration on one model name. Keep the serial with each requested line.
Request 1100 Series Filters →A generator-set rating can differ from the industrial version of the same family. State the application as well as the model.
Request 1200 Series Filters →Identify the installed position of each element. Where the removed filter and the parts record disagree, send both.
Request 2000 Series Filters →The engine family narrows the list; the serial number still decides the element. Searching by part number or engine model is a starting point, not a confirmation.
Two filters can look the same and still differ in thread, bypass pressure and flow. Media, seals and valves do not show on the outside.
A dimensional match is not a fitment confirmation. A number that matches a cross-reference is a candidate to review, not proof that the element suits the engine build in front of you.
Perkins and Caterpillar part numbers are not directly interchangeable, even where the two share a parent company. If you hold a Caterpillar number, cross-reference it through the filter maker’s interchange list rather than assuming a direct swap.
An incomplete number is a different part. A suffix or a superseded prefix decides the element, so a number copied without its final characters points to the wrong item. The identification checks rest on the same three records: the serial or build number, the installed position and the complete number off the old element.
Some buyers need a genuine original item for compliance or warranty reasons. Others will accept a labelled alternative. Either way, declare the choice before quoting.
Where a specification, compliance requirement or warranty condition demands an original item, say so at the start. It keeps the review focused on one option.
We claim no authorized-dealer status for Perkins. The quotation states the item itself: maker, complete number, contents, quantity and delivery terms. Any alternative is labelled as an alternative, so the choice stays with you.
A list covering several machines is quoted line by line. That suits agricultural fleets and plant buyers planning a service window in one pass.
The serial or build record and the numbers from the old filters, with the position each element came from.
We compare every item against the parts record and the installed position rather than against appearance.
The quotation names the maker, complete number, quantity and delivery terms for each line.
Unconfirmed items are flagged as needing confirmation, not guessed. Multi-machine lists are quoted line by line, which suits fleet and agricultural service planning.
Similar appearance and familiar references can hide a different application. Review these common mix-ups before confirming an order.
A final-stage element fitted in the primary position loads the downstream filter early and shortens its life. The two look similar and do different jobs.
Check the positionKeep the installed stage with the complete filter reference.
Many housings take a primary element and a safety element with different jobs. If yours uses both, they are two filters, not one.
Check each elementConfirm the housing and the separate part reference for each position.
A reference list narrows the search. It does not by itself establish media, seals, valves or the full application specification.
Check the applicationReview the offered item against the engine build and the installed arrangement.
An omitted prefix, suffix or changed reference can lead the search in the wrong direction. A prior service may also have fitted a non-standard element.
Check both referencesWhere a number has changed, retain the old and the current references for review.
Most builds carry five or six positions: fuel/water separator, primary and final-stage fuel, lube oil, air, and a coolant or crankcase breather filter where fitted. Housings using a safety element take two air filters, not one.
Start with the serial or build number, the position the filter came from, and the complete number off the removed element. A model name alone is not enough.
No. Two filters can be dimensionally similar and still differ in thread, bypass pressure and flow. A dimensional match does not confirm media, seals or valves.
Depends on your specification. If a genuine original item is mandatory, declare it before quoting. Where an alternative is offered, it is labelled as one.
Usually one of three reasons: different numbering systems, a superseded number, or a build arrangement the reference did not account for. Send both numbers and the build record.
Kits are assembled for a specific build and service interval, so the serial number decides. Send the build number, positions and quantity; contents are confirmed line by line.
